Since relying exclusively on police officers to respond to mental health crises has lethal consequences, which has been increasingly recognized by different departments, a few responses have developed to address this issue. This part of my website will focus on some of the main responses and provide information about each, using data from several studies to highlight the effectiveness of each response.
